Movies that meet the tough requirements of the HDTV 1080P standard must have image resolution of at least 1920 x 1080. Erdman Video Systems has developed a mature product that can help you get the most from off-the-shelf Canon SLR cameras. The Canon 400D has a native resolution of 3888 x 2592. Our hardware/software package can resize the images, and create a daily movie with greater than 1080p specification in .wmv format. We can also integrate your prefered codec for movie creation. This gives you the flexibility in post processing that you can get nowhere else.

What's the difference between an EVS SLR system and the standard camera systems?

Our standard cameras are the Canon consumer level cameras. These cameras produce images that, while beautiful, are NOT the same quality at the same resolution as an SLR camera. Our VM95 software can control the white balance, aperture, exposure times, ISO, and exposure compensation of all the cameras we offer. Zoom and focus however cannot be controlled on SLR camera systems since both are set on the lens. If you are only interested in presenting the images over the Internet and making decent time lapse movies, the standard cameras are fine. But if you want even better quality, with the intention of making HD quality time lapse videos, and a rock solid image that has no zoom, focus, or aperture jitter, you should choose an EVS SLR Nano-Biscuit system.
